• Do you have a specific allergy or air pollutant you are targeting?  The last thing you want to do is buy an air purifier that doesn’t target the air pollutant causing your problem and end up having to return the unit, and not solve your problem.  If not, go to he next item...

• Do you want a consumer grade or medical grade air purifier? The seriousness of your allergies or illness may determine this.  Some consumer grade air purifiers are only $89, while medical grade air purifiers start around $400.  The big difference is the effectiveness of air purification, the quality of air filters and frequency that the filters have to be changed, the quality or frequency of UV bulb changes, noise levels, length of warranty, customer service, and durability of components.  In my air purifier comparison I rate air purifiers as either consumer or medical grade air purifiers.
